1. SLIPPED DISC (Back and Neck)

In today’s day and age, with the kind of sedentary lifestyle that we all lead, almost every single one of us, is prone to get a ‘slipped disc’. A slipped disc is when the soft part of the shock absorbing disc, leaks out into the gaps of its supporting structure. Sometimes, this bulge may push on the spinal cord or on the nerves, and may cause pain, tingling, pins and needles sensations, or numbness down the arms or legs.

2. SCIATICA

The sciatic nerve has its roots in the lower back and is one of the main nerves supplying the lower limb. When this nerve gets irritated, due to compression along its course, it’s labelled as Sciatica.

3. SPINAL STENOSIS

The spinal cord, which is a bundle of nerves, passes through a spinal canal within the vertically stacked spinal vertebrae. Spinal stenosis is caused due to a narrowing of this spinal canal, which in turn might compress the spinal cord or the nerves originating from it. This causes neurological signs and symptoms like pain, numbness, sensory changes and loss in the power of muscles.

4. SPONDYLOLYSIS

Spondylolysis is caused due to a weakness in the pars interarticularis, a part of the vertebra. This can lead to spondylolisthesis, which is a condition wherein small fractures appear in the vertebrae, thereby resulting the bones to slip out of place.
